THE SHOWER

We flew Alicia in this weekend to attend the baby shower.  Wow what an amazing day it was.  We are so lucky to be surrounded with all this love.  We can't thank you all enough for sharing this amazing journey with us.

The Room...

Joey has been working so hard on getting the room ready for its new tenant.

As you can see we also received a box of surprises from Keri and Matt all the way from Illinois. Thank you both for all the wonderful gifts.  We feel so lucky to have so much wonderful support through this journey.
I really can't wait to put the shark towel on him.

HOW LUCKY WE ARE!

We want to thank Jennifer and Billy for the amazing gift they brought to us this past weekend. How lucky are we to live next door to such amazing and generous people.
Thank you both so much from the bottom of our hearts!

As you can see things are moving along very fast!!!!! Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

The room transformation has begun.
Joey is adding clay to the walls, and I put the crib together.
We are so lucky that my grandparents bought the crib and mattress for us.  What an amazing surprise that was.

As you can see the snow was pretty deep...Johnny was behind a white mountain of snow as Frida bravely watch out for dangers in the forest.  Not to protect me but to run away and leave me for dead if it came down to it!
Johnny was feeding a male buck on the front deck of the cabin, talk about brave and tame.
Joey went for a walk one afternoon and was able to take some beautiful pictures of the Brazos Cliffs covered in white.  The cliffs are just a short walk from the cabin and in the spring for about one week they release their snow pack with a breathtaking waterfall.  It truly is a wonderful place and we enjoy spending time there.

Our White Christmas in Chama

We hit the road on Christmas Eve and headed north to spend some time away from it all.  Joey had a few days off and I am off for two weeks so spending 5 days in Chama is just what was needed.  There was a ton of snow and I think that if we were there any longer cabin fever would have set in!  As you can see we made some new friends.  The deer are tame and love to eat whatever you will feed them!

As you can see I love to decorate for Christmas.  It gives the house such a warm feeling.  I am working on trying to get Joey to let me leave it up all year, but that does not look like it will be happening.  It is a strange feeling knowing that next year at this time we will have a new little helper when we decorate.  HOW AMAZING!  We get to add a new stocking to the mantel.
